My name is Rieven Martis, born and raised in the Dutch Caribbean island called Curaçao. My love for coding and Biology started in High School and what motivated me to study Bioinformatics in the Netherlands. I started coding in Python which was the base programming language at the University. While studying I worked as a part time Web Developer and also did many projects in the field of disease diagnostics, bacteria fingerprinting, DNA analysis, AI/data analysis in general. Now I am working as a freelance Fullstack Developer. I believe that coding has no limits and therefore I am constantly learning and keeping up with the most recent Web Technologies.

Hobbies and interests
I love playing guitar!
Back in 2009 I was at a friend’s house and he had his guitar laying on the sofa, I took it and started strumming, I was immediately immersed in it, I really liked it since then. I bought a guitar and started practicing at home, watching many YouTube tutorial video’s and started learning music theory. Now I am still playing, still practicing everyday a little, becoming better at it and still eager to learn new things. I like a wide range of musical genres, like: Classical, Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B, Blues, Reggae, Electronic and more…
